SUDHIR SHAH, MD

Dr. Shah has served as the Director of the Division of Nephrology since
1990. He was Chairman of American Society of Nephrology's Acute Renal
Failure Advisory Committee from 2002-2005. In this capacity he organized
a retreat in June of 2004 that brought together experts in the field,
industry, NIH, and the FDA to discuss issues related to acute renal failure.
He currently is a principal investigator on a program project grant from
NIH related to acute renal failure. Dr. Shah is internationally known
for his work related to the role of oxidants in kidney disease. He has
served on the editorial boards of all of the major kidney journals and
has served as a reviewer of grants for the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Shah received his M.B., B.S. from Bombay University in Bombay, India.
He performed an internship at St. Louis University Hospital and was a
resident in internal medicine at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He
continued his training as a Fellow in Clinical Nephrology at Henry Ford
and as a Fellow in the Department of Physiology at the Mayo Clinic. He
joined UAMS in 1990.
