Dr. Kellum is a Professor Critical Care Medicine and Medicine. His research
interests span various aspects of Critical Care Medicine, but center in
critical care nephrology (including acid-base, and renal replacement therapy),
sepsis and multi-organ failure, and clinical epidemiology.
Dr. Kellum has authored more than 150 publications and has won several
awards for teaching. He lectures widely and has given more than 250 seminars
and invited lectures related to his research. He has numerous NIH grants
focusing on sepsis and multi-organ failure.
Dr. Kellum a founding member and past president of the Acute Dialysis
Quality Initiative (www.ADQI.net). He is co-director of the MANTRA laboratories
(Mechanisms And Novel Therapies for Resuscitation and Acute illness) and
Director of the Molecular Core for the CRISMA laboratory (Clinical Research
Investigation and Systems Modeling of Acute illness) at the University
of Pittsburgh.
